Memorial Service for "Cozy" Baker
A memorial service is being planned to celebrate the life of Mike Cozy Baker, who passed-away on December 27, 2008, to take place on Sunday, January 18th at the Camellia Meeting Room of the Lake Guntersville Resort State Park Lodge, just outside Guntersville, AL - starting at 1:00pm. Michael "Cozy" Baker Passes Away
The entire drum corps community has lost a dear friend with the passing of long-term drum corps writer, performer, volunteer, and champion for the activity Michael Cozy Baker this morning in Birmingham, AL. Cozy had been hospitalized for the past month, suffering from the effects of an infection and reaction to medication. He was 60 years old, having just recently celebrated a birthday on December 20. 2009 Madison Scouts December Brass Camp Report
Beginning Thursday night, Madison, Wisconsin saw a winter storm advisory that lasted through noon on Friday. Several early flights into the region were canceled or delayed. Many Scout hopefuls had no choice but to forego their travel plans. By late morning the city had cleared most of the roadways, and flights were starting to get back on schedule. The Sacramento Mandarins December camp was held in conditions that ranged from sunny, to cold, to rainy! Despite the weather, the facilities at the new Cosumnes Oaks High School provided a terrific backdrop for the Mandarins first camp of the 2009 season.
